AROUND Mt NIMMEL LODGE
Located in the McPherson mountain range, Mt Nimmel offers a secluded retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There are many stunning attractions close by to our campsite for you to explore: Springbrook National Park, renowned for its gorgeous views, enticing waterfalls and interesting wildlife is located about a 25minute drive from our campsite. Some of the must see’s in Springbrook National Park are: Natural Bridge where you can experience the beauty of the glow worms up close. Take a walk to Purlingbrook Falls and you wont be disappointed.
If It’s cafes your after then why not give Polly’s Country Kitchen a try if heading up to Springbrook from Mt Nimmel Lodge. You can find Polly’s Country Kitchen at 1024 Gold Cost Springbrook Rd, Neranwood. If your heading back into town another popular Cafe of choice is Teatopia. You can find Teatopia at 7 Johns Road, Mudgeeraba. We are sure you wont be disappointed regardless of whether your heading towards Springbrook or back into Mudgeeraba.
For those looking for more of a thrill seeking adventure or to just wear out the kids, don’t forget to pack your mountain bikes and head to Boomerang Farm Bike Park. Boomerang Farm Bike Park is a short 5 minute drive from our property.
Boomerang Farm Bike Park is a gravity mountain bike park located at 55 Johns Road, Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast, Queensland. With 14 trails and growing, BFBP cater for all skill levels and ages ranging from Green Lines through to Double Black with B Lines around gaps and features on most trails. 150m of elevation and 1.5k trails with a cafe and bar on site. Only 20 minutes from the Gold Coast, you are not far from the beaches and the many other activities that the Gold Coast has to offer.
Brisbane is only an hour away from Mt Nimmel, offering great city and river scenery from Story bridge (which you can climb) and along Brisbane river, Lone Pine koala sanctuary and the city's botanical gardens are all a must see and do.
Our favourite is Surfers Paradise beach - here you can learn to surf, dive and go on some amazing water sporting tours.
But if relaxation is more your thing the beach has amazing sand to lay a towel down and chill out.
This man-made cave in the rainforest is designed to be a sanctuary for the critically endangered glow worm, only found in Australia and New Zealand. The conservation efforts by the staff are admirable and the worms produce a remarkable sight in the pitch black cave.
Although normally only bioluminescently glowing at night, do not worry ,the Tamborine cave has an artificially reversed night cycle meaning you can see this amazing spectacle over lunch and do not have to worry about a midnight trek through the rainforest.
The Gold Coast is famous for it’s theme parks. Less than an hours drive away is Seaworld; where you can learn about both native and exotic marine animals but also enjoy rides, exhibits and shows. Find out more at: https://seaworld.com.au/

Our campground has many walking tracks connected to it, that you are able to explore, soaking up all the beautiful landscapes and diverse wildlife Mt Nimmel Lodge. Or head up to Springbrook national park and check out the waterfalls.
